Siren Sativa

Siren Sativa, a.k.a. Aspa Tzaras has been producing and organizing mindful multi-media events with fellow Suma members and other community groups across Canada since 1998 including the well celebrated OM Summer Solstice Festival. Her endeavors have taken her throughout Canada and into the U.S. seeking interactive and creative expressions. Sativa engages in mixed media installation & stage designs as well as DJ and VJ art forms. Inspired through the interdependence of community and ecology, her work is influenced by both light and dark, and fusions of nature and technology.
As an educator, event planner, and artist, her goals involve bringing communities together through cultivating free expression and ecological awareness for a more sustainable approach to living. She thrives in interactive and collaborative efforts … having worked with various artists such as renowned Canadian filmmaker and VJ Peter Mettler, photographer and artist Blane Speigel, aka. Blankfoto, and fellow Hot Pie and Suma artists: Elysha Poirier, Jackie Levitt, Jonah K, Rollin’ Cash, Toye, Zumba, and Project3Media.
Aspa has an honours B.A. from the University of Toronto specializing in Environmental Management. She has pursued post graduate studies in Restoration Ecology at the University of Victoria, and Intercultural ESL Education at the Canadian Centre for Language and Cultural Studies in Toronto. She currently works with Greenpeace Canada as the Program Coordinator for their National Volunteer Program.
